1st Grade: Science Supplement

Supplies include: several pounds of stoneware clay for several ceramic projects, painting supplies, and watercolor paper. Supplies will not exceed $500.
5th Grade: Lawrence Hall of Science
Please help us fund our field trip to the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, California. The trip will include a 60-75 minute hands-on workshop, as well as touring the entire hall. It provides amazing, hands-on activities directly aligned to current Next Generation Science Standards. With an opportunity to speak to scientists and to see the beautiful area of Berkeley, it helps spark the students' investigation, interest and engagement in science. It was the favorite experience for 5th grade classes last year, and we hope to be able to do it again with our new students this year.

Willett's science teachers, Mrs. Elliott and Mrs. Hayes, would like Amazon gift cards to purchase science books and supplies for fourth, fifth, and sixth grade science classes. Thank you!

Inclusion Specialist Fund
Please help us fund "Communicators: A Paraprofessional Training Program" complete set ($500) and an additional seven (7) paraeducator workbooks to go along with the program. We would like to begin using this curriculum with our team as soon as possible. This program will help us better prepare our paraeducator staff for working with all students but particularly our students with communication challenges. This includes: students with disabilities, English Learners, and struggling students throughout our school. We have a large paraeducator staff who support students in many classrooms, and the more training our staff receives, the more prepared they will be to meet the needs of our Willett students. This is a high-quality training that was developed as a collaborative effort between an Education Specialist and a Speech and Language Pathologist working for CHIME Charter School, a model program for inclusive education in the LA area. This program also aligns with our district's goal of preparing our students with 21st century skills and communication skills as were named by our community as one of the top priorities for our students.
Thank you for your support!
